    Little Cop (DVD) (Malaysia Version)

The 1989 movie directed and produced by showbiz icon Eric Tsang is an elusive gem in the pantheon of celebrated Hong Kong comedies. Boasting an abundance of ludicrous gags and nonsensical plot points conceived before the big-screen emergence of Stephen Chow, the movie was ahead of its time and is often credited as a pioneer of the "e;mo lei tau"e; phenomenon that dominated the 1990s Hong Kong Cinema. The script by Szeto Cheuk Hon (Mr. Vampire) throws all narrative logic out of the window, and the story unfolds in a seemingly haphazard fashion with a boy who grows up from a family of criminals to become the titular "e;little cop"e; (played by Eric Tsang himself).

Supreme hilarity and cultural significance aside, Little Cop is fondly remembered for the legion of Hong Kong movie and pop stars making cameo appearances. Through the bumbling little cop's laugh-a-minute misadventures in different police departments, the movie introduces a myriad of characters played by such stars as Alan Tam, Maggie Cheung, Andy Lau, Sandra Ng, Jacky Cheung, Nat Chan, Michael Miu, Stanley Fung, Kent Cheng, Richard Ng, Derek Yee, and Bill Tung. Watching this movie, you will have a field day just counting the number of celebrities popping up here and there – if you aren't already too busy rolling on the floor laughing!
