The Wonder Girls Got Snubbed!

Wonder Girls So Sad
You know the saying… “bright lights big city”. Anything is possible in L.A… even a Kpop mega group going on National TV… or perhaps not!
I endured the teen choice awards for its 2 hour broadcast on national TV in order to find out they they were not even on air. Sure, they performed for 15000 people. I can only imagine that those select few got to enjoy the show. Now what about the rest of the fans? The fans were left pretty much high and dry. My niece was so excited on the phone earlier this afternoon as she told me that the wonder girls would be on North American tv tonight. Now I got to deal with that tomorrow…
However, at least we got to watch one of the Jonas brothers get a hair cut by a boxer with the I.Q. of a lima bean… how interesting…
I am sure that the wonder girls were at least happy to be there, and I am happy for them of course. However, if you look into their eyes you can see a small sadness in them. It’s a start at least. I know that JYP is using all of his connections to get them a fighting chance. The problem is that it is an uphill battle. It has taken a long time for Asian actors to get a good chance in North America. Does everyone that it took Bruce Lee’s death to get his due respect. Jet Li got little action in B rated movies… To date I can only think of one Asian singer that got prime time TV coverage. She sang “A love Before Time” at the 73rd Academy Awards. In my opinion, she has come the farthest as Asian singers go in the United States.
Can the wonder Girls go farther? Perhaps… but they need help. They need air play! Everyone should go to MTV and request their video to be played. Instead of everyone just reading about it, we should do something to help them out.
It’s better that watching another talented Asian group get shot down before they even had a real shot.
They will be in Toronto, Canada at the end of the month. Yo will probably see me “waaaay” back in the crowd because I am not as connected as other sites out there that I will not mention. However, away from the computer I am a sales manager for one of North America’s largest online brands… and that means that I know a thing or two about selling the sizzle. If I could sit down with JYP for five minutes I could give his head a shake and get them off of that concert tour and get them doing something more productive. They are selling to the burger joint down the street when shey should be selling to the heart of the franchise.
From Allkpop
I am sure that JYP gets on the net. Her is a pic of him doing just that. Thanks to allkpop for the use of this part of their pic. If he comes here he should contact me for some tips on marketing in North America. While he is at it… he can explain the whole mess to my niece…
Thanks to soompi forum for the pic up top…

There’s also an Asian artist that penetrated the North American entertainment industry, it’s Lea Salonga from Philippines, she sang the theme song of Disney movie ” A Whole New World” at the Oscars on 2003. She also sang the Mulan version of “Reflection”. She’s a stage actress in Broadway and won numerous acting awards. Also, there is an upcoming singer named Charice (also from Philippines) who is now the protegee of renowned producer David Foster. She was given an exposure on Oprah and some other shows inside & outside US territory. Talent, luck & right connection will get you noticed in States.
