    TVXQ Wants Cash

We all know about their concert last month when the five-member Korean pop band Dong Bang Shin Gi, a.k.a. TVXQ, enjoyed one of the best moments of its career at the Tokyo Dome, which was filled with tens of thousands of fans relentlessly screamed their names. The consistent drumming of the catchy rhythm played at sound levels that would make your ears ring for hours afterward…

My how the tides have turned for the five some. TVXQ made the news earlier  this week as three of its five members – Xiah Jun-soo, Hero Jae-joong and Micky Yoo-chun – decided to sue their management agency, S.M. Entertainment, stating how the unfairness of their current contract brought this about.

On July 31, the three applied for a “provisional disposition”, a move that would temporarily terminate the exclusive contract between the group and its management company for the duration of the fight, arguing that the contract is akin to a lifelong agreement. They also say they have not received adequate compensation for their work. Basically… they want more dough!

I don’t need to see the court documents in order to tell you this… these boys should have had propper legal representation BEFORE they signed the contract. So now they are locked in for at least 15 years, it is safe to say that they will not get a raise until they are ready to retire from the boy band limelight.

So lets look at this from another point of view… if these boys do win their fight, what will become of them? They will never get the same treatment from their management company ever again. The trust is now broken and it could never be replaced again. Perhaps they should sign onto JYP Entertainment and get a fair deal. JYP is one of the hardest working people in the industry and from what I can see… he is down to earth.

It just goes to show you that you need to read the fine print before you sign onto any contract. These boys were probably caught up in the moment of the record deal and didn’t bother to look into the details…

S.M. Entertainment knew this very well and used it to their advantage. However, as a company they made a calculated business decision. They probably made more that they are going to lose from this legal battle.

What did we learn out of this? It is better to be the person who writes the checks than the person who cashes them… because the person who writes the checks will always have much more money…

TVXQ needs our help! Lets give them more money by buying their stuff here!
